System Requirements

Supported macOS versions, hardware, and network for ToShop.

Supported platforms

  • macOS — 13.0 (Ventura) or later — Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel both supported.

Older macOS versions may launch but aren't officially supported.

Hardware

RAM

4 GB minimum, 8 GB recommended (more if you run multiple agents with large contexts).

Storage

500 MB for the app + space for local Memories, indexer, audit log (grows with use; typically under 2 GB per user per year).

CPU

Any Mac shipped since 2015 will run ToShop.

Display

1280×720 minimum. UI is designed for 1440×900 and up.

Network

  • Outbound HTTPS — For sign-in, updates, messaging via Telegram or Discord, and AI inference.
  • Outbound real-time connections — For Telegram or Discord connections.
  • Inbound — ToShop doesn't run a server you have to expose. No inbound connections required.

Corporate environments: most setups work with the standard system proxy. For environments that decrypt TLS, ToShop respects the system CA store.

Permissions ToShop asks for

  • Notifications — End-of-task pings.
  • Accessibility — Drive other apps in some skills.
  • Screen Recording — Required for screen capture and on-screen OCR.
  • Files (path-scoped) — Read/write the files you ask your agent to touch.

Decline any of them and ToShop continues to work, with those specific tools unavailable.

What ToShop is not

Lightweight by design

  • Does not require admin / root access.
  • Does not install kernel extensions or system services.
  • Does not run a public listener on any port.

Headless / server use

ToShop is a desktop client. Server-side / headless deployment isn't supported. For event-driven automation, use Routines running on your desktop instead.
